Bhubaneswar, Sept 2: The State Transport Authority (STA), Odisha, has issued a strong advisory warning motorists and the public against fraudulent WhatsApp messages being circulated in the name of e-challans.
According to the STA, it does not send WhatsApp messages asking citizens to pay e-challans. Cyber fraudsters are reportedly sending fake notices claiming traffic violations, such as riding without a helmet or driving without a seatbelt, and attaching malicious APK files or suspicious links.
Clicking on such links or downloading the APK files could expose users to cyber fraud and may put their personal information and financial details at risk.
