The deceased woman has been identified as Kalpana Dutta and the incident has been reported from Nuapatna village under Tigiria police limits.
As per reports, Kalpana had been married to Dipak Dutta for nine years and had a seven-year-old daughter. She was seven months pregnant. When her family learned she was unwell and hospitalized, they rushed to Athagarh Sub-Divisional Hospital where she died.
Meanwhile, Kalpana’s father alleged that her in-laws had subjected her to mental torture and accused her husband and in-laws of poisoning her, leading to her death.
Following the complaint, the police filed a case and arrested Kalpana’s husband, Dipak Dutta, and her father-in-law, Prahallad Dutta for questioning in connection with the death.
Tigiria police seized the body and conducted a post-mortem in the presence of Athagarh Sub-Collector Manas Ranjan. After the examination, the body was handed over to Kalpana’s family.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
