Bhubaneswar, Jan 19: Another 145 new cases of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 have been detected in Odisha, informed the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) today.
With the detection of the new cases, total Omicron variant cases in the state rose to 347.
The state had reported its first case of Omicron variant on December 21, 2021 after two foreign returnees from Nigeria and Qatar tested positive for the new variant.
Worth mentioning, over 30 thousand units of the OmiSure testing kits have reached Odisha today.
The TATA Medical and Diagnostics had developed the OmiSure testing kits which can directly detect the Omicron variant of Covid-19. It is also approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
