Odisha remembers Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Das on death anniversary

Bhubaneswar, Feb 4: People paid tribute to "Utkal Gourab" Madhusudan Das, one of the architects of modern Odisha, on his death anniversary on Thursday, who died on February 4, 1934. Odisha Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal paid homage to the veteran poet, freedom fighter and social reformer. The Governor garlanded the statue of Das at Raj Bhawan Square here at a programme organised by the state government in memory of the legend. Similarly, Odisha Assembly Speaker Surya Narayan Patro garlanded statue of Das in Assembly premises in presence of a group of lawmakers. {"id":96208,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} Born in Satyabhamapur village, 20 km away from Cuttack, Das had made enormous contribution to formation of independent Odisha province and state's art, culture and education. He was the first graduate and advocate of Odisha.
