Odisha officially announces its Ranji Trophy squad and complete schedule
Odisha Cricket Association officials have confirmed a 17-member senior men's squad for the opening two fixtures of the 2026-27 Ranji Trophy season. Chairperson of the Selection Committee Kulamani Parida and Head Coach Pravanjan Mullick finalized the roster during a press briefing today. Subhranshu Senapati will lead the state side as captain, carrying the responsibility of navigating a highly competitive Elite-C group.
Selectors have introduced four new players to the senior setup, rewarding recent performances in regional tournaments. Om T Munde and Shreyansh Bhardwaj will strengthen the right-handed batting order. Furthermore, Soumya Lenka and Sambit Beja add crucial depth to the pace and all-rounder departments respectively. Establishing a strong foundation early in the domestic circuit remains crucial for Odisha to secure a commanding position and advance toward the coveted knockout stages this year.
Returning veterans provide necessary experience to support these rising talents. Swastik Samal, Sandeep Pattanaik, and Shantanu Mishra return to anchor the top order. Wicketkeeping duties are shared between Aashirwad Swain and Dinesh Majhi. The bowling attack features established medium-fast options Rajesh Mohanty, Prashant Rana, and Lalit Yadav, expertly supported by left-arm spinners Sayed Tufayl Ahmad and Badal Biswal. Ninad Rathva rounds out the squad as a highly versatile all-rounder.
Odisha begins its campaign away from home, facing Gujarat at the Narendra Modi Stadium B Ground in Ahmedabad from October 11 to 14. Kerala hosts the second match at the Sports Hub International Cricket Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram between October 18 and 21. Domestic fans can watch home games at the KIIT Stadium in Bhubaneswar against Services (October 26-29) and Jharkhand (November 2-5). Following a break, the team hosts Delhi at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack starting January 17. The group stage concludes with away matches against Maharashtra in Gahunje and Bengal at Eden Gardens.
