βββββββBhubaneswar, June 4:Odisha Police is giving utmost importance to coastal security, considering the state's 575-km-long coastline, Director General of Police (DGP) Y.B. Khurania said on Thursday.
Speaking at a one-day state-level seminar on coastal security in Bhubaneswar, the DGP highlighted the measures being taken to strengthen surveillance and safeguard the coast. The seminar brought together representatives from 18 agencies involved in coastal protection.
Khurania said the Odisha coastline is being closely monitored through drone-based aerial surveillance. At the same time, fast interceptor boats are deployed for regular sea patrols to enhance maritime security and prevent illegal activities. He emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among all agencies to ensure effective coastal protection.
