Cuttack: The Odisha Havildar, Constable and Sepoy Confederation today called its proposed strike after talks with Director General of Police Dr Rajendra Prasad Sharma.
The cops’ body on Thursday threatened of launching an agitation, if the State Government failed to take action in an incident relating to alleged assault of two police personnel by some advocates in next 48 hours.
Confederation president Santosh Satpathy told reporters here that the DGP assured them to revoke the suspension of three of their colleagues.
Satpathy said that the DGP also assured two consider two other demands of the confederation.
Satpathy had alleged that that to of their colleagues, who were escorting the Advocate General inside the High Court on Monday, were assaulted by a few agitating lawyers.
Lawyers in Odisha have been agitating since August 29, demanding the arrest of two policemen, who had allegedly assaulted a lawyer in Cuttack on August 28.
