Bhubaneswar, August 20:The farmer registration process for Kharif season paddy procurement is progressing rapidly across Odisha, with more than 5.5 lakh farmers having registered so far. The registration drive will continue until August 31, 2026, with nearly one lakh farmers registering every day.
Registration is currently underway across all districts at Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS), Large Area Multi-Purpose Cooperative Societies (LAMPS) and Pani Panchayats. A total of 2,907 PACS and four Pani Panchayats have been facilitating the registration process.
Among the districts, Bargarh has recorded around 60,000 registrations, followed by Balasore with approximately 43,000, Kalahandi with 40,000 and Puri with nearly 24,000 farmers registered so far.
The state government has made necessary arrangements at the societies to ensure a smooth registration process. Farmers can complete their registration in real time and verify all details before submitting their online applications. Dedicated help desks have also been established at the societies to assist farmers with the registration process.
The registration drive is being carried out in coordination with the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, Cooperation, Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, and Revenue and Disaster Management departments.
