Bhubaneswar, Aug 2: Odisha government today ordered compulsory retirement of OSSC member’s PS Biranchi Narayan Sahoo, who was arrested by Vigilance.
Biranchi Narayan Sahoo, the crorepati Private Secretary (PS) to Odisha Staff Selection Commission(OSSC) member, has been arrested on the charge of disproportionate assets on Saturday.
Bhubaneswar Vigilance has arrested Sahu after tracing movable and immovable property of more than 3.79 crores.
The Vigilance team had traced cash of Rs 25 lakh cash during multiple raids in connection with the amassment of disproportionate assets by Sahoo.
Vigilance conducted raids at six different places in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack including Sahoo’s residence at Niladri Vihar on specific allegations of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of his income.
Meanwhile, Sahoo was found in possession of assets worth Rs 3.79 crore including two double-storied buildings at Niladri Vihar, 14 plots in Bhubaneswar, Puri, and Khordha, insurance deposits worth over Rs 56 lakh, cash worth over Rs 25 lakh, and gold ornaments worth Rs 60 lakh.
