Talcher, Apr 3: Angul Police in Odisha nabbed a notorious criminal following an encounter while he was trying to flee after firing at them.
The criminal has been identified as Sushant Nayak.
As per reports, the encounter took place in a forest near Scotlandpur village in Talcher, in which the criminal sustained injury to his left leg.
Acting on a tip-off, a special squad from Angul police and Talcher police laid a trap to arrest Nayak. After seeing the police, he opened fire at them inside the forest and tried to escape from the scene.
Following the encounter, Nayak was taken to Angul District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for treatment.
Reports said that multiple criminal cases are registered against Nayak in Talcher.
