Kandhamal, Mar 27: In a heart wrenching incident, a minor boy allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself due to frequent fights between parents in Phulbani of Odisha’s Kandhamal district.
The deceased has been identified as Abhijit Bagarti, only son of Pramod and Jayanti Bagarti, and the incident has been reported from Kendupadar locality in Phulbani.
As per reports, Pramod is a habitual drunkard and often returns home in an intoxicated state. He used to create ruckus in the family regularly. Neighbors have alleged that he used to assault both his wife and son in inebriated state.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the scene and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
Though the exact reason behind the minor boy’s death is yet to be ascertained, many suspect that he might have committed suicide after being fed up with the frequent fights between his parents while others alleged that he was murdered by his father.
The cops have also detained Pramod for questioning in connection with the minor boy’s death.
Further investigation into the matter was underway.
