Bhubaneswar, September 25: In a significant operation, the Salipur Police Station in Cuttack district seized a large quantity of illegal firecrackers and explosives on Thursday. A case has been registered, and Mahendra Parmanik, a resident of Manitri village, has been arrested in connection with the illegal trade.

The value of the seized materials runs into lakhs of rupees.

Dr. Satyajit Naik, DIG of the Central Range, Cuttack, confirmed that the operation would continue at full force to ensure the safety and security of the public in the seven districts coming under the Central Range.
