Balasore, June 13: The body of a married woman was found hanging at her in-laws house in Soro locality of Odisha’s Balasore district on Friday.
The deceased woman has been identified as Runu, daughter of Prahlad Das from Khirakona village.
As per reports, Runu was married to one Rajendra Mallick from Kochiakoiili village about nine years ago. She was found hanging in their bedroom today. Rajendra said he tried to save her and took her to the Soro Community Health Centre, where the attending doctors pronounced her dead.
Upon being informed, Runu’s family members arrived at the hospital and alerted the police. After being alerted, Soro police reached the hospital and seized Runu’s body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
Though the exact reason behind Runu’s death is yet to be ascertained, her family members have accused her husband and mother-in-law of murdering her.
The incident caused tension at the hospital when Runu's family members reportedly attacked Rajendra and his family.
The cops have detained Rajendra and registered a case in this connection. Further investigation into the matter was underway.
