Kalahandi, Oct 10: In a tragic incident, a 56-year-old man died after being struck by lightning while grazing cattle in Bijepur area of Odisha’s Kalahandi district.
The deceased has been identified as Dudu Harijan and the incident has been reported from Padmathopa village under Bijepur police limits in the district.
According to reports, Harijan was grazing cattle in a nearby forest around 4 pm on Thursday when the incident occurred. Some local villagers rescued him and rushed to Lanjigarh hospital, where the attending doctors declared him dead.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the hospital and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
Thereafter, the deceased’s family filed a written complaint following which police registered an unnatural death case.
