Bhubaneswar, October 15: Laxminarayan (LN) College in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district has been declared sine die until further orders following the cancellation of its students’ union election over law-and-order concerns.
In a notice issued on Thursday, the college principal announced the indefinite closure of the institution, citing apprehensions over maintaining peace and order on the campus.
As part of the closure directive, students residing in both the boys’ and girls’ hostels have been instructed to vacate their respective hostels on Thursday itself.
The college authorities have also imposed restrictions on entry to the campus during the closure period. No person will be permitted to enter the premises without prior written permission from the principal.
The students’ union election was cancelled amid concerns over the possibility of disturbances on the campus. The college will remain closed until further instructions are issued by the authorities.
