Bhubaneswar, Aug 19: Getting essential revenue services in Odisha is set to become easier as the state government has launched the ‘Ama Sathi’ WhatsApp Chatbot, enabling citizens to access several services from the comfort of their homes.
Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari launched the chatbot at Lok Seva Bhawan, highlighting the government’s efforts to make public services faster, simpler and more accessible.
16 Revenue Services Available Through WhatsApp
Through the Ama Sathi WhatsApp Chatbot, citizens can access 16 services of the Revenue Department, with two more services expected to be added in the future.
The services include:
Caste certificate
Income certificate
Residential certificate
Land kisam conversion
Marriage registration
Society registration
Application status tracking
Patta-related information through Bhulekh
Grievance submission and resolution
The minister said that 11 services were already available earlier, while the expanded platform now brings additional services under one digital system.
No Need to Visit Tahsil Offices Repeatedly
The new chatbot is aimed at reducing the need for citizens to repeatedly visit Tahsil offices. Applicants can use WhatsApp to check the status of their applications and access relevant revenue services remotely.
For grievances and complaints, citizens can also contact 9437292000.
With around 1.65 crore people in Odisha reportedly using WhatsApp, the government expects the platform to make revenue services more convenient and accessible to a large section of the population.
Minister Suresh Pujari said the government is committed to providing citizen-friendly services that save time and reduce the need for physical visits to government offices.
