Odisha: Jamshedpur bound coal-laden train catches fire in Balasore

Balasore, Apr 16: A coal-laden train traveling from Dhamra to Jamshedpur caught fire near Markona village in Simulia Tehsil of Odisha’s Balasore district on Wednesday morning.
As per reports, smoke was seen coming from two of its bogies following which the railway officials immediately halted the train at Soro station.
Upon getting the information, the firefighters from Soro Fire Department rushed to the location. They successfully doused the flames, preventing any major damage or injuries.
After the flame was brought under control and the situation was safe, the train resumed its journey towards Jamshedpur.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire to understand what led to the incident.
Railway officials have assured that safety protocols were followed, and no passengers were harmed.
The quick response by the fire team helped avoid a serious situation and ensured the train could continue without much delay.
