Bhubaneswar, Aug 7: A health department officer was arrested in Odisha's Cuttack district on Thursday for allegedly sexually harassing a woman doctor and a pharmacist at a government-run medical facility, police confirmed.

According to Om Prakash Mohanty, IIC of Cuttack Sadar Police Station, the officer is accused of making lewd remarks, physically harassing the victims, and subjecting them to continuous mental distress over several months, despite their repeated objections.

The pharmacist further alleged that the officer had persistently proposed a romantic relationship and issued threats of transfers when his advances were rejected.
