Odisha has adequate stock of Remdesivir: State Medical Corporation

Bhubaneswar, April 27: The Odisha State Medical Corporation today said that the state has sufficient stock of Remdesivir injection and Favipiravir tablet. Remdesivir is being used in emergency to treat critical Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised. The corporation in a press release said that the corporation has been releasing the drugs as per requirement of private hospitals. “The availability of Remdesivir injection in open market is dependent on the regulation by Govt. of India. For the period between April 21 and 30, Govt.of India has allotted 21,000 vials of Remdesivir injection Odisha. Odisha govt is taking appropriate steps for smooth management of the critical drugs,” said the corporation in the release. Earlier in the day, Drugs Controller of Odisha Annada Shankar Das has claimed acute shortage of Remdesivir.
