Bhubaneswar, April 17: The vaccination drive against Covid-19 was on Saturday halted in three districts due to shortage of vaccines, director of health and welfare department Bijay Panigrahi informed.
Director of Family Welfare, Dr Bijay Panigrahi, who is also the officer in charge of immunization, said the vaccination drive has been halted in three districts due to shortage of vaccines.
The districts where vaccinations have been halted are Jharsuguda, Nuapada and Koraput.
An official source said that the vaccination drive was conducted in 1073 session sites out of above 1500 sites across the state.
On the other hand, in an attempt to stem the rising number of coronavirus cases in Odisha, Odisha government on Thursday announced a weekend shutdown in 10 districts bordering Chhattisgarh.
A many as 3.6 lakhs covashield and 2.3 lakh covaxine are available in Odisha.
Worth mentioning, Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday urged PM Narendra Modi to send more COVID-19 vaccines here.
