Bhubaneswar, July 2: The Odisha government has informed that approximately five lakh small investors affected by the chit fund scam will receive their refunds within the next three to four months.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has instructed officials to take all necessary steps to ensure timely repayment to the duped depositors.
The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), in a statement issued today, emphasized the government’s commitment to delivering justice to small investors who lost their savings in fraudulent schemes.
Under Majhi’s leadership, the state government has introduced several measures aimed at accelerating the refund process and restoring public confidence.
Over the past year alone, 1.26 lakh small investors have been reimbursed a total of ₹47.07 crore, according to the CMO.
From 2014 to 2024, the government has successfully returned ₹119 crore to 2.79 lakh small depositors.
