Bhubaneswar, July 10: Amid an ongoing statewide strike by the Odisha Drivers’ Association, the state government has stepped up efforts to prevent disruptions in the supply of fuel and essential commodities. A dedicated task force has been formed to address logistical bottlenecks and ensure uninterrupted movement of petroleum products and other critical goods.
The strike, which entered its third day on Thursday, has seen most buses and trucks remain off the roads, raising concerns over the smooth transportation of vital supplies.
“In response to the situation, a special task force has been constituted following a detailed review. It comprises officials from the Commerce and Transport Department, police authorities, district administrations, and representatives of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs),” the state government said in a statement. “The team will monitor the situation round-the-clock and take swift action to resolve logistical challenges.”
OMCs have assured that there is sufficient stock of fuel at both depots and retail outlets across the state. Meanwhile, the Transport Department has taken proactive steps to maintain the steady flow of essential commodities, with particular emphasis on petroleum supplies.
