Bhubaneswar, Aug 25: The Odisha government has undertaken the 10th biennial revision of financial assistance rates under the Odisha Rehabilitation and Resettlement Policy, 2006.

The revision has been made under Section 13 of the policy, and the revised rates will remain effective from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2028.

Under the revised rates, assistance for self-rehabilitation (outside rehabilitation colonies) has been increased from ₹1,13,128 to ₹1,16,550. Similarly, financial assistance for house construction has been enhanced from ₹3,39,383 to ₹3,49,650.

The government has also revised the one-time financial assistance provided to families displaced by industrial projects in lieu of employment. The assistance has been fixed at ₹11,65,500 for Category I, ₹6,99,300 for Category II, ₹4,66,200 for Category III, and ₹2,33,100 for Categories IV and V.

For families displaced by mining projects, the one-time assistance in lieu of employment has also been revised to ₹11,65,500 for Category I, ₹6,99,300 for Category II, ₹4,66,200 for Category III, and ₹2,33,100 for Categories IV, V and VI.

The financial assistance for agricultural land has also been enhanced. The grant for irrigated land has been increased from ₹2,26,255 to ₹2,33,100 per acre, while the grant for unirrigated land has been raised from ₹1,13,128 to ₹1,16,550 per acre.

Other rehabilitation benefits have also been revised. The monthly maintenance allowance has been increased from ₹4,525 to ₹4,662, while assistance for a temporary shed has risen from ₹22,626 to ₹23,310. The transportation allowance has also been enhanced from ₹4,525 to ₹4,662.

The revised rates will be applicable for the two-year period from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2028. The revision has received the concurrence of the Finance Department.

The state government has directed all concerned departments, Revenue Divisional Commissioners, district Collectors, revenue authorities and other concerned agencies to take note of and implement the revised rehabilitation rates.
