Bhubaneswar, Oct 2: The Odisha government has introduced a change in the colour and design of school uniforms for Class IX and X students in public and government-aided schools under the Mukhyamantri Chhatra Chhatri Paridhan Yojana.
The previous green uniforms, introduced by the BJD regime in 2023, will now be replaced with light brown and maroon.
Boys will wear checked light brown shirts paired with maroon trousers, while girls will be dressed in checked kurtas with maroon jackets and salwars.
The School and Mass Education Department has informed the Director of Secondary Education that the new design has been approved.
Worth mentioning, earlier, the School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond had suggested the possibility of restoring the old blue and white uniforms.
