Bhubaneswar, Dec 31: The Odisha government has effected the promotion of several senior IPS officers, including two to the rank of Additional Director General (ADG) of Police. The promotions, which take effect from January 1, 2025, also include officers advancing to the ranks of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Inspector General (IG) of Police.
As per a notification from the General Administration and Public Grievance Department, Yatindra Koyal, a 2000 batch IPS officer, has been elevated to the position of ADG, effective from January 1, 2025.
In a similar development, Prateek Mohanty, also from the 2000 batch and currently on central deputation, has been granted a proforma promotion to the rank of ADG of Police.
Additionally, three senior IPS officers from the 2011 batch—Pinak Mishra, Banoth Jugal Kishore Kumar, and Battula Gangadhar—have been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police.
Furthermore, in line with the IPS (Pay) Rules, 2016, three officers from the 2007 batch—Awinash Kumar, Sarthak Sarangi, and Niti Shekhar—have been promoted to the rank of Inspector General (IG) of Police, effective from January 1, 2025.
