Bhubaneswar, June 8: The State government is considering for starting the unlock process in phases in the districts that are experiencing decline in Covid-19 positivity rate considerably. This was informed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik while reviewing the Covid-19 situation.
Patnaik asked to provide additional training to doctors and health workers as experts have been predicting that pediatric population will be mostly affected by the possible third wave.
Chief Minister further directed officials to ensure infrastructure for Covid treatment of children and procurement of adequate quantity of medicines keeping in view of the possible third wave.
The state has also planned to reserve 1610 general beds and 610 ICU beds for children for which Additional Chief Secretary of Health, P.K Mohapatra today wrote to Superintendents of Medical Colleges, Municipal Commissioners and District Collectors.
