Bhubaneswar, May 28: The Odisha government’s Home Department has issued a stringent advisory to senior police and district officials to prevent leaks of sensitive information during VVIP visits.
The circular has been addressed to key officials including the Director General of Police, Director of Intelligence, all District Collectors, District Magistrates, and Superintendents of Police.
The advisory stresses the need for strict caution while handling confidential information related to VVIP movements. Officials have been instructed to ensure careful management and sharing of details such as minute-to-minute schedules, security arrangements, and other operational matters to avoid any unauthorized disclosure.
“It is therefore requested to emphasize strict due diligence in handling and sharing of sensitive information such as minute-to-minute programmes, details of security arrangements, and other operational matters to prevent unauthorized transmission,” the circular stated.
The directive follows a communication from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, dated November 24, 2025, which highlighted the importance of preventing leaks of sensitive operational details during high-profile visits.
