Odisha govt directs to reserve 30% normal beds, 80% ICU beds for COVID patients in 5 cities

Bhubaneswar, Sep 14: The Odisha government today issued guidelines to the private hospitals with more than 30 beds in five cities – Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Berhampur, Sambalpur and Rourkela and directed to reserve 30 per cent normal beds and 80 per cent ICU beds for the corona patients.

“All private hospitals having bed strength of 30 or above, located in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Sambalpur, Berhampur and Rourkela Municipal Corporations limits will mandatorily designate minimum 50% of their general beds and 80% of ICUs for treatment of COVID positive patients with an option to convert the entire hospital as a COVID hospital,” said a notification issued by the health department.

“Hospitals will charge the patients at the rate as communicated by Government vide Notification mentioned above.  Other terms and conditions as stipulated in the advisory remain unaltered. The above directives shall be implemented with immediate effect,” it added.
