Odisha Govt Committed to Comprehensive Development of Labourers: CM Majhi on International Labour Day

Bhubaneswar, May 1: On the occasion of International Labour Day, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended heartfelt greetings to the workers across the state, recognizing their pivotal role in driving the progress and development of Odisha.

In his message, the Chief Minister said, “On this International Labour Day, I extend my sincere greetings to all the hardworking men and women of Odisha. I deeply appreciate your invaluable contributions to the state’s growth and prosperity.”

Majhi reaffirmed the Odisha government’s unwavering commitment to the holistic development, welfare, and protection of workers' rights. He emphasized, “The Odisha government is fully dedicated to the overall development, well-being, and safeguarding of the rights of the working class.”

The Chief Minister also called for a unified effort, stating, “Let us join hands and work together towards creating a prosperous and progressive Odisha.”

This message aligns with the global observance of International Workers’ Day on May 1, which emphasizes workers' rights, fair wages, safe working environments, and emerging priorities such as mental health at the workplace and empowering women in the labor force.

In recent months, the Odisha government has introduced several initiatives to protect workers, including guidelines to restrict outdoor labor during peak heat hours (11 AM to 3 PM) from April to mid-June 2026, in an effort to prevent heat-related health issues amid rising summer temperatures.Bottom of Form
