Bhubaneswar, June 6:The Odisha government on Saturday approved 24 industrial investment proposals worth Rs 3,793.33 crore, expected to generate 19,924 employment opportunities across 14 districts of the state.
The proposals were cleared at the 147th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
The approved projects span sectors such as textiles, tourism, advanced manufacturing, energy storage, logistics, food processing, steel, and consumer products.
Major investments include a Rs 683.83-crore Battery Energy Storage System project by CESC Green Power Limited in Dhenkanal and a Rs 500-crore lab-grown diamond manufacturing unit by AVP Star Private Limited in Khordha.
The textile sector emerged as the largest employment generator, led by Nandraj Textiles Private Limited, which will set up an apparel manufacturing unit in Khordha with an investment of Rs 168.64 crore, creating over 10,300 jobs.
Several hospitality projects were also approved across Koraput, Puri, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jagatsinghpur, and Mayurbhanj, boosting Odisha’s tourism infrastructure. Investments were also cleared for steel fabrication, logistics parks, warehousing, beverage manufacturing, EV batteries, and food processing units.
The state government said the approvals reinforce Odisha’s position as an emerging investment destination and align with its vision of employment-driven growth, sustainable industrialisation, and balanced regional development under the ‘Samruddha Odisha 2036’ roadmap.
