Bhubaneswar, Jan 14: The Odisha government has issued a directive mandating that all government work, from the block level to the state level, be conducted in the Odia language. All notices, circulars, correspondence, and official communications are now required to be in Odia.
The order, issued by the Department of Odia Language, Literature, and Culture, applies to all departments, departmental headquarters, district collector offices, subordinate offices, and government-run institutions, including corporations, municipalities, and autonomous bodies.
Officials who fail to comply with the directive will be issued a show-cause notice specifying the reasons for non-compliance.
The state government’s move aims to promote Odia language, literature, and culture in official administration across Odisha.
