Odisha forms high-level advisory committee to tackle possible third wave of Covid-19 pandemic

Bhubaneswar, May 15: Odisha government has constituted a high-level advisory committee led by K Srinath Reddy, president, Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) to suggest measures to tackle the possible third wave of Covid-19 pandemic. This was informed by Chief Secretary, Suresh Chandra Mahapatra in a presser today. He said that Devi Shetty and Ramakanta Panda are among others in the committee. “The committee will guide us in mass vaccination of people. Besides the committee will also advise the government to implement best practices to combat the pandemic,” said Mahapatra. Mahapatra said that global tender for procuring vaccines has been floated on Friday. “We are trying our best to procure vaccines at the earliest possible. Vaccine manufactures across the globe can participate in the bidding process by May 28,” said Mahapatra.
