Bhubaneswar, Aug 29: Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo today took a high-level meeting at Kharvel Bhavan to review innovative renewable energy solutions for the state.
Clean-tech company MACLEC presented its advanced Surface Hydro Kinetic (SHK) Turbine technology to Singh Deo and other senior officials of the state government.
MACLEC highlighted key strategic advantages of adopting SHK turbines in Odisha, such as achieving the state's renewable energy targets without requiring additional land allocation by using existing surface water canals, driving local employment generation, encouraging area infrastructure development, and providing stable grid integration benefits.
As part of the initiative, MACLEC presented a detailed proposal for a 10 MW clean power generation project along the canal.
To support project deployment, MACLEC requested key administrative and infrastructure assistance from the Department of Energy, specifically regarding canal allocation rights along with streamlined grid synchronization and expansion permissions.
