Bhubaneswar, July 3: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi held a high-level meeting with a Japanese delegation on Thursday as the state intensified its efforts to attract greater foreign investment.

The discussions come at a time when the Odisha government is actively seeking global investments to accelerate industrial growth and strengthen international business partnerships.

The Japanese delegation included prominent industrial leaders such as ACME Group Chairman Manoj Upadhyay, IHI Corporation President Hiroshi Ide, along with several leading Japanese entrepreneurs and business executives.

Representing the Odisha government, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi was joined by Industries Minister, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, and other senior government officials during the meeting.

The talks focused on expanding trade and investment cooperation between Odisha and Japan, with particular emphasis on the aluminium, steel, and seafood sectors. Both sides also explored opportunities to deepen collaboration in manufacturing and industrial development.

In addition, discussions highlighted the potential for increased Japanese investments in Odisha's mechanical and electrical engineering sectors, reflecting the state's commitment to positioning itself as a preferred destination for international investors.
