Odisha estimates cyclone Yaas loss at Rs 610 crore

Bhubaneswar, June 2: Odisha government has estimated the loss due to cyclone Yass at Rs 610 crore. This was revealed by the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), P.K Jena during a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The SRC said that around 60 lakh people from 11,000 villages were affected in the cyclone. He said that government infrastructure worth Rs 520 crore was damaged in the cyclone while private property worth Rs 90 crore was damaged as well. Jena further said that Rs 66 crore is needed for providing relief to the cyclone affected people.
