Padampur, May 17: A doctor, Sudipta Sahoo, in Padampur area of Bargarh district has shown his humane side by performing the last rites of a man, who succumbed to Coronavirus on Monday.
According to reports, one Bhagaban Marei of Lahangir village under Bukuramunda gram panchayat had tested positive for Covid-19 and was in home isolation. He succumbed to the virus on Monday at around 4pm.
However, his last rite was delayed as the local residents refused to help fearing infection of Covid-19.
After coming to know about the incident, the doctor along with his staff showed their humane side and visited his residence by wearing PPE kits, brought the body to cremation ground and also cremated him.
They have also earned appreciation from all quarters for providing dignified farewell to the man.
