Bhubaneswar, Sep 28: Director General of Police (DGP), Odisha has expressed deep grief over the demise of ODRAF jawan Sitaram Murmu.
“Deeply saddened on untimely demise of dynamic ODRAF Sepoy Shri Sitaram Murmu in line of duty. Gone too soon. It is a big loss to Odisha Police. He will be remembered for his dedication, hardwork and sincerity. My deep condolences to bereaved family,” said DGP.
The body of the ODRAF jawan Sitaram Murmu who had gone missing due to the boat capsize in the Mahanadi at Mundali barrage yesterday, has been recovered on Saturday.
Two youths of Choudwar area spotted his body at Mahalapada ghat near Kakhadi village in the afternoon.
Worth mentioning, during an elephant’s rescue operation yesterday, an ODRAF power boat capsized under the Mundali barrage. Subsequently, an OTV journalist and an ODRAF jawan were swept away into the high current of the Mahanadi.
