Odisha: Covid hospital celebrates happy birthday of a nonagenarian inmate in Balangir

Balangir, June 11: Balangir Covid Hospital authorities celebrated happy birthday of a nonagenarian inmate on Thursday. Overjoyed with the uncommon event, the 92 year patient Gopabandhu Mishra inducted valuable message for the sake of the society. Sources said, Gopabandhu Mishra a native of Deogaon village under Balangir district was admitted to the dedicated Covid hospital on June 5 after he tested Corona positive. Meanwhile, his oxygen level dropped alarmingly and he was kept with continuous oxygenation. However, his condition gradually improved with the endeavor of the treating doctors and paramedical staffs by June 8. On the other hand, the family members of Mishra expressed their grief over his birthday, that they used to celebrate magnificently on June 10 every year. Acting on it, the hospital authorities organized happy birthday celebration of Mishra in the hospital on Thursday evening where all inmates, doctors and nurses participated happily amid Corona protocols. ‘I don’t find any difference between celebrating my birthday at home and over here as the caretakers are more than that of my kiths, said Mishra while slicing the birthday cake wearing the ceremonial birthday cap. The bad period for Corona will pass on one day. You all, my next generation will see the new dawn ahead, he added.
