Odisha court orders confiscation of 42 acres land of real-estate firm

Cuttack, Jan 27: A special court handling scam cases in Cuttack on Monday directed to confiscate 42 acres of land of a real estate company. The court, formed under Odisha Protection of Interest of Depositors Act, asked the district administration to confiscate 42 acres of land, Rs 51 lakh bank deposit and an SUV of Bhubaneswar based Maa Tarini Estcon Private Limited. According to reports, the company had duped crores of rupees from customers promising to provide residential plots and houses in Bhanapur, Gopalpur, Pratapnagari and Nachhipur areas on the outskirts of Cuttack city. Following a probe, the additional collector of Cuttack district had prayed the special court to allow the district administration to confiscate the properties of the company. Hearing the plea the court today asked the district administration to confiscate the aforementioned properties, money and a Toyota Fortuner car of the company. The court also directed to dispense the money earned from bidding to the victims.
