Bhubaneswar, May 14: Ex-Revenue Inspector (RI) of Mahalei Revenue Circle has been dismissed from government service as per provision of OCS (CCA) Rules, 1962 by the competent authority following his conviction by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir in bribery case.
The RI, identified as Satyanarayan Kumura was earlier charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting bribe from a complainant for submitting land genealogy enquiry.
Kumura was convicted by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir on 14.03.2024 and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 4 years and fine of Rs.2, 000 and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 months more for the offence. The Court further sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 years and fine of Rs.2, 000 and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 months more for the offence.
Following conviction of Satyanarayan Kumura, Revenue Inspector, Odisha Vigilance had communicated in this regard to the competent authority to take appropriate action against Kumura. Accordingly, Kumura has been dismissed from Govt. Service by the competent authority for bribery.
