Bhubaneswar, Feb 16: The Nayapali police on Tuesday arrested a man for allegedly operating fake medical consultancy agency and duping a medical aspirant on the pretext of getting them admissions in colleges.
According to the police, one Sunil Kumar Samantray who is running a medical consultancy agency at Nayapalli area in Bhubaneswar cheated the complainant, identified Krushna Prasad Udgata as along with his son with cash of Rs. 20,00000 in the name of giving medical MBBS admission at MKCG medical College Berhampur.
During medical counselling time, Samantray contacted the complainant and told him that he can provide a seat at MKCG medical college under green card quota. He informed him that total amount for giving admission is twenty five lakhs (25, 00,000).
First he took a cheque of five lakhs (5,00000) cheque No. 060611 Allahabad Bank , Puri and then he took Rs 5,00,000 on December 9,2020 as cash at outside of OJEE Office in Pokhoriput.
Again as demanded by accused, Samantray gave him Rs 10,00,000 on 14.12.2020 as cash at his office at Nayapalli .
Later, the accused person handed over provisional allotment letter to the complainant. As they did not get any final letter till next one month they contacted him frequently to provide the same.
Finally he provided them final admission letter on 20.01.2021 outside of OJEE office.
He told the complainant that the confirmation email will come to his son’s email ID from OJEE within 48 hours. Stating roll number and reporting date and time at MKCG medical college. Also took a demand draft of 30000/- (thirty thousand) in favour of OJEE, 2020.
But they did not get mail from OJEE after asking him at OJEE office they came to know that all those mail and letters issued to them from OJEE is forged and manipulated. The total forged and manipulated documents were made and provided false document to the complainant and his son by the accused persons Sunil Kumar Samantray, Debasis Mukharjee for giving assurance to provide a seat at MKCG medical college under green card quota.
