Bhubaneswar, May 26: The Higher Education Department of Odisha has announced the schedule for undergraduate (UG) admissions for the 2026–27 academic session, with the Common Application Form (CAF) process set to commence from May 27 through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS).

As per the official notification, the CAF for UG admissions will be available on the SAMS Odisha portal from 4 PM on May 27, 2026. Eligible students can submit their online applications between May 27 and June 10, 2026.

The department informed that the first merit list for admissions will be released on June 17, 2026.

The e-admission process will cover Plus-III Degree colleges, including self-financing institutions and Sanskrit (Shastri) colleges across the state.

Officials stated that the admission process for the 2026–27 academic year will be conducted under the guidelines of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, offering students greater flexibility in choosing subject combinations.

Under the NEP-2020 framework, applicants can opt for a single major with two minor subjects, choose double majors, or select three minor subjects according to their academic interests and career goals.

The Higher Education Department is also targeting the commencement of undergraduate classes for the new academic session by July 9, 2026.
