Bhubaneswar, June 26: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday unveiled the 'Go East' platform, a landmark initiative to accelerate industrial growth across Eastern India and position Odisha as the region's leading investment destination, at the CII East India Summit 2026 here.
Announcing major reforms to Odisha's Industrial Policy, the CM accorded 'Thrust Sector' status to 15 districts to promote non-mineral industries and drive balanced regional development.
"Odisha is not just attracting investments, but implementing them in record time," said the CM, while reaffirming the State's commitment to providing investors with opportunity, speed, security and seamless support through the Go East platform.
The Chief Minister also interacted with industry leaders and witnessed the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for seven projects worth Rs 24,823 crore, with the potential to generate employment for nearly 29,500 people.
The CM said that the agreements reaffirm the shared Purvodaya vision for the large-scale industrial development of Odisha and strengthen the state's position as a key growth engine for eastern India.
“As Odisha has become a hub for new entrepreneurs and investors, the industrial sector is gearing up in full-fledged form to become the gateway to Eastern India's industrial growth,” the CM said.
“It was a pleasure to address the CII East India Summit 2026 and share Odisha's vision for becoming the growth engine of Eastern India. As the momentum of Purvodaya gathers strength under the visionary leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Odisha is emerging as a preferred destination for investment, innovation and value-added manufacturing. Through the Go East initiative, we are creating new opportunities for regional collaboration and industrial growth across Eastern and North Eastern India,” said Majhi.
The Chief Minister emphasized timely execution of investment projects.
“We are not merely attracting investments, but ensuring their timely execution through bold reforms, faster clearances and industry-friendly governance. Together, let us build a stronger Eastern India, a Samruddha Odisha, and contribute meaningfully to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047,” said Majhi.
