Bhubaneswar, August 12: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday directed officials to take comprehensive measures for the development, security and promotion of the Shri Jagannath culture associated with Puri Gobardhan Peeth.

Chairing a high-level meeting in Bhubaneswar, Majhi emphasised the beautification of the site near Swargadwar, where the daily Sandhya Mahodadhi Aartiis performed and called for organising the ritual on a grander scale.

He also proposed developing Puri beach as a major spiritual and cultural destination.

The Chief Minister directed officials to examine old land records to resolve long-pending property issues of the Peeth and strengthen security for the Jagadguru Shankaracharya and the Peeth premises.

The meeting also reviewed measures for conserving the samadhi sites of Acharyas, developing Gobardhan Goshala and improving the surrounding areas. Senior ministers, government officials, sadhus and representatives of Gobardhan Peeth attended the meeting.
