Bhubaneswar, Oct 10: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday inaugurated the revamped Taladanda Canal Road project in Cuttack through video conferencing as part of the state government’s ambitious plan for the transformation of SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack into a world-class health care institution.
The road will connect to Cuttack Ring Road near Jobra barrage for better connectivity from outer city to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Addressing the virtual inauguration ceremony, Patnaik said, “ Cuttack’s SCB Medical College and Hospital is also known outside the State for quality treatment. The main problem of the city of Cuttack is the lack of space, which will be solved.”
The existing 3.5 metre has been widened to 9.30 metre (950 mtr. length) with paved shoulder.
Besides, a 1.5 metre width footpath has been developed on both sides of the embankment with paver blocks. Five parking areas have been developed in both embankments. Plantation has been made on both sides of the road to provide scenic beauty as well as greenery. A small patch of landscaping has been developed with parking facilities in left embankment.
The project has been completed in record seven months after the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the transformation of SCB Medical College & Hospital into a world-class institute on March 5 this year on the occasion of 104th birth anniversary of former Odisha Chief Minister Biju Patnaik.
