Berhampur, Aug 27: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi is scheduled to visit Ganjam district today to attend a programme for the rehabilitation of 1,371 displaced families from Nuagaon Golabandh.

The Chief Minister is scheduled to land at the Army AD College helipad at 10:45 am, following which he will travel by car to the Dhabaleswar shrine for darshan and puja. He is expected to reach the main programme venue at around 11 am.

During the programme, the 1,371 displaced families of Nuagaon Golabandh will be relocated to the Odisha Rehabilitation Project (ODRP) Colony constructed at Kirtipur. Each displaced family will also receive ₹5 lakh as compensation.

After attending the programme for around two hours, CM Majhi is scheduled to return to the Army AD College and leave for Bhubaneswar at around 2:15 pm.

Extensive preparations have been made for the Chief Minister’s visit. Ministers, the district administration, police and other officials have been working on arrangements for the past four days.

Around 20,000 people are expected to attend the programme, with leaders, supporters and party workers from different constituencies likely to participate.

For the Chief Minister’s security, around 120 police officers and 20 platoons of police force have been deployed.

Ganjam Collector V. Keerthi Vasan reviewed preparations on Wednesday, focusing on arrangements at the venue, healthcare, drinking water, fire safety, parking, transportation and crowd management.

Brahmapur SP Dr Saravana Vivek M also reviewed the security arrangements and inspected the programme venue, parking areas, temple premises and helipad along with the district administration.

Senior officials, including Additional Collector Sachidananda Nayak, Zilla Parishad CEO Samir Jena, Berhampur Sub-Collector Abinash Kumar, Rangeilunda BDO Biswajit Ray and Kanishi Tahsildar Kabiraj Pradhan, were present during the preparations.
