Bhubaneswar, May 6: Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has lauded the Odisha Fire and Emergency Services (OFES) team for their successful rescue of a 14-year-old boy trapped in a narrow rock crevice in Kanipada forest, Nayagarh district.
CM Majhi praised the bravery, professionalism, and technical expertise demonstrated by the rescue personnel during the challenging six-hour operation. “The courage and technical skills displayed by our rescue team in such a critical situation are truly commendable,” he said.
Emphasizing the government’s commitment to citizen safety, the Chief Minister added, “The safety and well-being of every resident of our state is our top priority. Prompt and effective action during emergencies reflects the strength of good governance. Our administration is not just about planning but ensuring the safety of the people of Odisha in every crisis.”
The 14-year-old boy, a resident of Gaintara village under Shardapur Panchayat, had gone to the hills to collect honey when he accidentally became trapped in a dangerous rock crevice. Rescue teams from Nayagarh and Odgaon Fire Stations, along with the Striking Fire Force (Central Range), executed the complex operation with efficiency and dedication.
The boy has been safely rescued and reunited with his family.
