Bhubaneswar/Sambalpur, Aug 28: On the occasion of Nuakhai, the major agrarian festival of Western Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan extended greetings to the people of the state.
CM Mohan Majhi wished happiness, peace, and prosperity for all, invoking the blessings of Maa Samaleswari and Lord Jagannath. He described Nuakhai as not only a harvest festival but also a symbol of Odisha’s culture, tradition, and social harmony. He urged youth, farmers, workers, and students to contribute towards building a developed Odisha by 2036 and a developed India by 2047.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is celebrating Nuakhai in Sambalpur this year. He began the day with rituals at Sindurpank in Maneswar block, followed by prayers and prasad at Maa Samaleswari Temple. Later, he will attend multiple Nuakhai Bhetghat programmes organised across Sambalpur.
In his message, Pradhan said Nuakhai reflects the prosperity of farmers, food security for all, and the values of togetherness and respect for elders. He prayed for happiness and abundance in every household.
