Train Accident: Odisha CM expresses concern over Bengaluru-Kamakhya train derailment, promises swift action

Bhubaneswar, March 30: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has on Sunday expressed his concern over the derailment of Bengaluru-Kamakhya Superfast Express near Nergundi station in Cuttack district.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, CM Majhi stated, “I am deeply concerned about the derailment of the Kamakhya Express near Nergundi station in #Cuttack. I am relieved that all passengers are safe. Authorities are on-site, providing assistance and working to restore normalcy at the earliest. Helplines have been activated for support.”

Reports indicate that the tragic incident occurred around 11:54 am, resulting in the death of one passenger and leaving seven others injured. A total of 11 coaches derailed in the Cuttack-Nergundi railway section of the Khurda Road division.
