Odisha CM lays foundation stones of Rayagada planetarium and Koraput district science centre

Bhubaneswar, Mar 3: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today laid foundation stones for a planetarium in Rayagada and district science centre at Jeypore in Koraput district. Patnaik laid the foundation stones through video conferencing. The CM said that currently two planetariums are functioning in the state while the state government is also planning to set up six more planetariums. “Besides the state government is also planning to set up one district science centre each at 30 districts. A total of Rs 100 crore will be spent for this purpose. The Pathani Samanta Planetarium in Bhubaneswar will be converted into a 3D planetarium,” said Patnaik. The CM further advised youths to have a scientific approach in their life. “Science and technology have important roles in development of human race. Humans have reached the pinnacle due to science. Science and development are two sides of a coin,” said Patnaik.
